Cage Days is a "liquid novel," flowing like warm whisky over crackling ice. Its set in a well known local bar in Pittsburgh, PA, often called the "Cage" by its regular customers. It is written from the perspective of the daytime bartender there, who has seen just about everything pass before his bar top, and has heard not only volumes of outrageous lies, but snippets of wisdom. He wrestles with his own identity there, as well as secrets from his clientele, who we imagine, hoped to god he wasn't taking notes...
