After years of living a contented life in Brooklyn, musician and barista Mateo Schumacher is summoned back to his New England home town by an unsettling phone call. Something is amiss. He quickly finds himself enmeshed in his mother's odd behaviors and ultimately to the silences that have held his family hostage from the time of his beloved grandfather's childhood. Mateo nearly falls victim to the consequences of these secrets before the family is finally able to speak the truth about the past.
