Tony Jones is a wealthy real estate developer who lusts for the girlfriend of his city's most successful drug dealer. When Tony's loser brother comes to him with the business opportunity of a lifetime, Tony gets sucked into a crazy financing scheme with that same drug dealer. Based on Shakespeare's Merchant of Venice, the first plot of this novel is off to a roaring start when a second plot swoops in out of the blue- featuring the novel's fictional author- a former high-flying executive, now a broke community college professor, who gets caught in a sex video with one of his students. The two novels carry on in remarkably parallel universes until the surprise endings of both, featuring some life-changing alterations for the author.
