Clare Willoughby is a far cry from SuperMum.

Her kids' lunchboxes contain convenience food, her bills almost never get paid on time and the concept of regular housework is one from times BC (Before Children).

Clare's efforts to do the best by her family while keeping her job and some vague semblance of a social life have conspired to bring her down. Add a self-imposed magic ban since having children and she has become an anxious mess mum.

The only real surprise is that it took over seven years to get there.

'Magic Mama - Headaches and Heartburn' is a modern fairytale with a mother, instead of a princess, needing to be saved from a black dog rather than a fire-breathing dragon. In a way, she thinks she'd prefer the dragon.
