Gary Hillmann, the 16-year old, all-American teen, felt the pressure: the pressure of being a teenager; the pressure of trying to lead a historically successful, championship baseball team; the pressure of growing up in a small town and having all eyes on you; and now he felt the pressure trying to escape the small town, agricultural life to get a prep-school education in the city. The South Dakota Teener baseball program, sponsored by the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), is a baseball league for 14 to 16 year old boys. The Reedville South Dakota Teeners have had a long history of achievement.
