The Twenty-twenty Players: a Futuristic Account of the 2020 Presidential Election Year

The 2020 Players: A Futuristic Account of the 2020 Presidential Election Year. The 2020 Players is a fictionalized, futuristic account of the Presidential Election of 2020. Its vivid characters transit three interwoven plots -- the election, domestic terrorism and international terrorism. The final months of 2020 are fast-paced and unpredictable but will lead the reader to feel hopeful, energized, invigorated and optimistic about the future.

"My first hope is that readers will find my book to be enjoyable, entertaining and thought-provoking," says Lynch, "but I also hope the dramatic plot and exciting conclusion will prompt readers to consider how important it is for the United States to overhaul its political process and the insidious role that media advocacy plays in this process."Lynch weaves historical facts and events into his fictionalized, futuristic look at how our political world could and should appear while taking readers on a suspenseful ride through the 2020 presidential election year.

The novel deals creatively with many controversial topics such as globalism, Islamic terrorism, political polarization, the growing wealth gap, immigration, and American Exceptionalism.
The election itself involves a three-party skirmish because in 2020, for the first time, American citizens are treated to a viable third-party with real choices to be considered. In the new world, life in the White House is more civilized and effective because the 29th Amendment limits the President to a single, six-year term and bans any political campaigning while in office.

Looking the better part of a decade into the future requires some insight into what might transpire in the years between now and then and it requires answers to some very specific questions. Just a few of the questions that get answered in 2020 Players are these.

* What exactly happens on July 4th, 2017?* Can a third party candidate actually have a fair shot at becoming President?* Will there be a female president anytime soon? * How will the US deal with the rapid erosion of its middle class?* What will the 28th and 29th Amendments entail?* Is the US ready for its first gay president since James Buchanan? * Will Dictator Dominoes lead to theocratic unification and sovereignty?* How long will the USA remain dependent upon others for its energy sources?* When and where will the next major terrorist attack be attempted?* Will Puerto Rico become the 51st State?* Will post-Castro Cuba embrace capitalism and democracy?* How will the Hispanic Vote impact the 2020 election?* How much of the population will be able to vote via the Internet in 2020?* How will the USA/China relationship evolve? * Does the media's role in the political process expand or contract?* What is the role of the US military in the Twenty First Century?* What is the USA's new Manifest Destiny?* AND FINALLY,* What impact will space exploration have on globalization?
