The British Project Mirga Grazinyte-Tyla

Mirga Grazinyte-Tyla and the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra started the acclaimed "The British Project" at Deutsche Grammophon last October with an e-album of Britten's Sinfonia da Requiem. At the beginning of this year a second digital publication followed with the Symphonic Suite from Walton's opera Troilus and Cressida, which the London Times described in its five-star review as "exuberant, lavish and splendid". "The British Project" is now out on CD, with the works of Britten and Walton framed by Elgars Sospiri and Vaughan Williams' Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis. The album, due to be released on July 16, 2021, shows the extraordinary craftsmanship of the Lithuanian conductor and her City Of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.
