Confused and lost in the cold-hearted streets of Philly, he finds comfort in Cassius, Rolex and Reese who are well-known killas in the streets. They took Jalen in and began teaching him how to survive in the streets. What makes Jalen stand apart from the rest in his situation is the fact that he has the talent of singing which he realizes possibly a little too late.
