Abraham is a Superb Bird of Paradise who is kidnapped by two humans that settled in Papua, New Guinea after a global catastrophe. As their pet, Abraham occupies his time studying his owner's books until he miraculously learns English and discovers his own love of writing. After escaping, Abraham's dream of becoming a writer takes him on a journey to lead the catastrophe's scattered survivors to refuge in paradise.
