Maseah Mountain

Tribe. Loyalty. Love.
The year is 1932. Dr. John Rocklan, an arrogant trauma physician, attempts to bury the memory of a personal tragedy by disappearing into the Bitterroot Mountains of Idaho. Seeking solitude, Rocklan purchases an old ranch deep in a remote valley among the peaks of the Maseah Range. There, he hopes to put his past behind him through isolation and reinvention. Instead, he finds a new world, teeming with life, both human and animal.
Reluctantly, he becomes entwined with the Shoshone bands resident among the soaring peaks, and is constantly challenged by both predators and prey, all living in balance in this beautiful and dangerous universe. Slowly, he begins to realize as well that the mountains themselves are alive and dominant, controlling all that falls within their shadow.
A surprising tale of survival, adventure, healing, and self-discovery.
