What does it mean to be Black in Scotland today? Why is it important to reflect on and archive Black Scottish lives? Can Black people in Scotland relate to a broader Black British experience and will Black Brits ever feel the need to connect to Black Scots? Coming at a point in time when notions of nationhood and "home" have been shaken up by the Scottish Independence referendum (2014) and Britain's European Union (EU) Membership referendum (2016), this book sheds light on issues related to race and Black identity in Scotland. This is the first study to focus on the present-day experiences of Black people in Scotland, and with firsthand testimony.
