Carter and Jane had both enjoyed their four weeks' leave. Jane grew to love the farm and life in their cottage. Over the following months, their lives were perfect. Jane had moved in with Carter, and they both shared domestic bliss. They both decided that Jane continued with her job returning to Commander Tony Frost's office as his secretary.
Carter returned to the team, finding that his deputy, Detective Chief Superintendent, Sue Ford, had managed in his absence. All seemed well until one of the junior detectives, walked into the general office, and had clearly, forgotten the rule, never, never, ever, say; 'How are things, is everything quiet?' Gasp... He looked around the room saying, "Shit what have I done?"
That was the start of, 'The rule of four...'
