Peter Hawthorn Belfast Bound is book 1 of a series of three that follows Peter from birth to his first tour of Northern Ireland. Set in October 1987 through to the end of October 1988 Peter and his friends Dave Spinney, Mickey Dobson and Paul Wilcox join the 2nd Yorkshire Regiment (D) Company as young soldiers green and inexperienced but the troubles of Northern Ireland and a mole within the ranks soon turn these boys into men. The loss of friends at the hands of the IRA and the daily fear of the unknown frays their nerves as they ponder if they will ever return home more over how will the troubles change their outlook on life itself.
