UB40 are a reggae and pop group, formed during December 1978 in Birmingham, England, UK. The band has had more than 50 entries on the UK Singles Chart, having also had considerable international success, with over 70 million records sold worldwide. They've been nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album 4 times, having also been nominated for the Brit Award for Best British Group in 1984. The ethnic make-up of the band's original line-up was diverse, with members of English, Welsh, Irish, Jamaican, Scottish and Yemeni parentage.
