Centuries have passed since the miraculous alloy shamaskite crashed to Earth in the form of shimmering meteorites. The advent of sunstone brought immense energy sources, the awakening of psychic abilities-and the planet-ravaging cataclysm forever after known as the Rending. And Earth, under the care of living androids that call themselves Guardians, has been regenerating through terraforming efforts and genetic manipulation; now greenery cloaks the remnants of the ancient Terran nations.
