1948, is a play on the political events of South Africa 1948. Tony Mzila, a Capetown cafe owner is accused of sedition in his coffee shop. The trial that emerges is one in which he must not only prove innocence, but also the absurdity of the current Apartheid system. Ken Sibanda is also the author of, The Songs of Soweto ( Africa World Press, 2001), and Hannibal the Great (2013).
