From the author of the TERRA INCOGNITA Collection, Cielito Lindo is inspired in the master works of Alfred Stieglitz and Edward Weston, whose devotional respect for the spiritual resonances of form, light and the organization of space set new standards for straight Photography during XX Century. Together with Paul Strand, Walker Evans, Eugene Atget and Henri Cartier Bresson, they settled the status of unstaged, straightforward Photography as an autonomous art: in the case of Modernist Cartier Bresson, as the art of virtuous improvisation and transforming banal into poetry. Eventually, Cielito Lindo could be seen as photographic Minimalism, since all of the pictures were taken from the same place: a small balcony facing north at Salinero´s ninth floor home in La Plata (Buenos Aires, Argentina). Patience, perseverance and a deep concentration were the main resources to create the images, plus an inner confidence in the eternal generosity of heaven and clouds; which, in Stieglitz words, "are there for everyone". In any case, the big challenge is whether we dare to look up, face our cosmic origin and be sensible enough to hear the music of the spheres.
