FUJI follows the on-again, off-again romance of two resident aliens, Collin Long and Huang Jianhong, who work at a big TV station in Tokyo. Trying to make it in a land where acceptance is elusive, they get close to the inner circle of power through the intervention of Miki Matsu, a famous TV anchor who takes them under her wing. She invites them to join a documentary climb of Japan's penultimate peak, but jealousy, greed and lust cause things to fall apart almost from the start, answered with bad weather and nature's cold indifference. Illusions are shattered and social niceties are discarded on the windswept peak in what becomes a tense fight for survival.
