Melony Carter is a beaten and battered wife. She had tried many times to get away only to be dragged back kicking and screaming. Finally, one night Melony made a split second decision to run for her life with her two small children. Melony drives hours and hours until she is far enough away to stop for a minute to think. She finds a battered women's shelter a few hours away and goes there to seek help to hide from her abusive husband.
