Orchard Hill
Penelope a Bowland
It was a time of extreme economic desperation. When Raybun returns to the Kentucky homeplace after the war, he is dismayed to discover the entire region suffering in extreme poverty resulting from economic changes beyond anyone's control. Now, Raybun must find a way to help his family and community. Through a series of small miracles and a growing, persistent faith, Raybun and his friends are able to bring restoration to the broken community, and find love along the way. NOTE: Orchard Hill was a historical location in southwestern Ohio. It was the name of a camp for impoverished squatters in the 1940s and 1950s, the setting of this novel. This book is not a part of, and has no relationship with, the fiction series by Kara Lynn Russell which happens to use the title "Orchard Hill."
