Deputy Lisa Riordan didn't expect to be investigating a savage murder in her hometown while a blizzard isolated her from the outside world. Yet, here she was, alone and stalking a killer in the middle of a raging winter storm. Lisa dreamed of being a cop and marrying her high school sweetheart. She never thought her career would flounder and that she'd be separated from her husband. Lisa often fantasized that her first real case would be a flawless investigation that easily caught the criminals. The only help she was getting now was from the cranky town doctor, a recovering alcoholic who wasn't even remotely clever. The situation would have been laughable if it hadn't been for the corpse she'd found and the threat that had been made: there would be another victim before the next sunset. In order to protect the victim's spouse, Lisa must find the killer with the aid of her estranged husband and a doctor she doesn't trust. Ultimately, Lisa must accept her disappointments and do the one thing the killer cannot: forgive.
