This book was written as a therapeutic tool, because of being a victim of domestic violence. The events that took place in this book were actual events; the names of the characters were changed to protect what was left of their dignity. Everyone at one point in his or her lives feels like this is the way life is, well it doesn't have to be. You have the power to change what happens to you and your children by the choices that you make for yourself and them. The choices you make have an affect on your children in one way or another. Then there are the people that think it'll never happen to them. This book was written for those people. If it can happen, it will. There are no guarantees in life. If you know the symptoms then you can prevent the years of heartaches. I can only hope that no one ever has to go through life the way I did, no one should ever have to feel as low about himself or herself as a person, everyone is special and has a purpose in life.
