At eight years of age, Mireya Richardson became aware of her unusual gift. She has an uncanny ability to communicate with animals. As an adult, she became a wildlife photographer as reclusive as some of the species she stalked. She uses her unusual abilities to find lost pets for those who are desperate enough to seek her help. When a retired postman hires Mireya to find Connor, his aging golden retriever, her life is rocked by the realization that she has witnessed a murder through the dog's eyes. Gary Coakley, a geoenvironmental engineer, is on assignment in Minnesota when his eight-year-old daughter disappears without a trace. Mireya and Gary's paths cross when Mireya connects the murder she has witnessed to Sandra's disappearance. A thin trail of clues leads them to Cape Cod, where the adventure begins...
