When Leah Commoss, travel junkie and Department of Defense teacher, boards the Orient Express from Istanbul in 1968, she begins a journey through the Iron Curtain and into the realms of murder, theft, and plague. A flirtatious stranger disappears, another is a possible suicide, a desperately sick woman is spirited off the train, and even Leah's nemesis is thwarted time after time by the Bulgarian government.
