The evolution of a survivor to becoming the overcomer A seed dies in order to be plantedAs it grows and reaches for the bestIt goes through weather as a testIt sees it can dream, it can love it can become It shakes off the past the residue of trauma does remainBut it's life can be reclaimed From victim blame and shame To new rules, finding boundaries and no more games Reaching for the sky becoming struggling not to die The rain made it look like it cried Now a survivor becoming an overcomer and empowering others to know they too can survive and educating those who were left behind by those who died.
