Zeke Conley from Kentucky has wandered the west in search of his place in the bigger scheme of things. He is accompanied by a hundred and fifty pound monster of a dog that has the courage of a grizzly and the cunning of a cougar. Receiving a letter from his father, Zeke and his ever faithful companion head back toward Kentucky to help his family fight off swindlers and land thieves. The journey home is difficult as Zeke finds himself hunted by some of the very gang that is set on taking away his father's farm. Even if Zeke and Ben make it home there is trouble waiting, trouble that could spell the end for both man and beast.
